so after being told by my rheumy that she is almost certain it is ra, i go in for my test results and am told that it is parvovirus infection i've had that has developed arthritis. on one hand i think this is good news, but i have read some reports that it may still be ra. anyone know much about
this?
also she put me on celebrex for 4 weeks. should i be worried about
taking it with all the recent contraversy?

So did you test positive for the parvovirus then? If you did then yes it can cause joint pain, at least this is what I was told by my rheumy because we waited for several months thinking this is what I had also, since I worked with children at the time, but it turned out I did not. If you have your symptoms more than 3 months, and you test
negative
for the parvovirus, then that is not the cause of your arthritis.

So your rheumy is saying you have reactive arthritis?

she never used that term "reative arthritis" but she did say i have developed arthritis and she hopes its just from the infection. i guess if my symptoms don't go away within say 6 months they will maybe continue doing blood work and treating the symptom untill an exact dx is found. i know it can take a while for them to say ra when the blood work is negative, so i'll just hang in there till we figure this thing out.

Well it looks like there is a pretty good chance that is the cause of your joint pain..At least it is good to know where it is coming from! Especially since you have tested positive for the virus itself. I hope you feel better soon.
