RF Factor, Normal CCP. What does this mean??

I have been having issues with joint pain, extreme fatigue, trouble digesting foods, plus more!! I have been in and out of doctor visits for all these years and I keep getting the runaround. I haven't felt right for a very long time. I recently had all my blood work done again and my RF was very high and my CCP is normal. What does this mean? I got referred to a rheumatologist finally and I am hoping they will accept me so I can get more answers.

The way I understand it there are certain markers that are used to determine if one has RA and its severity. One of these would be a positive RF and a high CCP which I believe with physical symptoms being displayed by the patient would be diagnosed as aggressive RA. Not having one or the other is not an exclusion but a lot of people who are diagnosed with RA are not classic cases (according to the panel of Doctors who determine these criteria) and it can take time to rightly determine.

It's good that you are getting to see a Rheumatologist. I languished for 3 years with symptoms before finally getting to see a Rheumy. She ran a panel and diagnosed me with no problems and I am a very classic case of very aggressive RA. I was so mad at my GP. I hope he didn't put anyone else through that afterward.

At any rate, I hope that you are able to get in to see a Rheumy soon. It can be quite the wait the first time seeing them but you might be able to speed it up if you tell them how poorly you are feeling and ask to be placed on a cancellation list. You would have to be available at short notice though.
