Severe Knee Pains - Urgent Help Needed

Hello All,

My father is suffering with Arthritis pain in both legs.
He says that pain is more in the Knee Caps and not able to walk without pain.
I wanted to send some over the counter medications/gels/patches ..etc from USA to him.
Appreciate if somebody can suggest on choosing right products so that I can buy peacefully with a hope at least one of them works.

I love salonpas. They have a nice gel formula that works great. I also own a TENS unit I bought at Walmart called Omnicron (?). Heating pads or ice packs help me, too.

Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry your dad is not getting pain relief. Where does he live? If there is inflammation in his knee (s) a cortisone shot might give him instant relief that could get him back on track until he can find a longer term treatment.
He's sure lucky to have you watching out for him from across the miles.

Sorry I didn't checked messages for last few days.
Appreciate all your responses.. Surely I will buy Salonpas and Omnicron.
Right now he is taking Move Free ULTRA from Costco one pill a day.
Is there any other over the counter medicine that helps build Cartilage and help to rebuilt the Knee balance.

Over the years I've had knee pain but just in my right knee and on occasion lower back pain. What has helped me is a gel which I purchase at a local Beauty Supply Store which has products from all over the world. It's called: La Original Manteca La Ubre Extra Strength Formula. A 3 oz jar costs $3.99.

Hi I don't want to jump to conclusions about India as I know there are Some Lovely well Equipped areas Hopefully he lives in one where he is getting Good Medical Care if so then for sure a Cortisone shot into the Knee would be his best move Also to Check with his Doctor that his RA medication is Giving him the Right Coverage he may need to try a Different or new Drug

as for over the Counter I use Voltaren Osteo Gel (it's an anti inflammatory cream)Also
He needs some Good Quality Vitamins one that uses good ingredient's he needs a Good Men's Multi Vitamin and Vitamin D ( 1000 iu Minimum) & Omega 3

You can buy Paraffin Wax heat it in a pot then coat the knee in Warm-Hot But NOT Burn Hot Wax then Wrap in thick Bandage so its all snug and rest it for about half hour then unwrap and flake off the wax ( you keep the wax and reuse it- also the same pot - I just put the wax back in the pot till next time)
I know it seems messy & it can be BUT it Really Works so if he would try this perhaps before bed or in the morning he will find relief.

Have you had xrays on the knee? I had fluid removed from my knee and cortisone injects and found great relief. It turns out one of my knee caps was misaligned and I had surgery to correct it but due to RA it took a while to heal. If you haven't already, see a surgeon that specializes in knees.
