Question about getting diagnosed

If you test negative for rheumatoid arthritis once, do you never have to get checked again? Or can you actually get it later so to speak?

Thanks! I was diagnosed with crohn's arthritis several years ago, but in 1 year whatever it is has progressed horribly and I feel like my hands are going to be crippled within a year. I get hot Sensations in my arms on my skin on all my joints seem to be going bad and now and I damage a joint, it stays damaged. Doesn't seem like osteoarthritis when you can actually feel it getting worse by the day
