OA And possible Rhuematoid arthritis

Hello

This is my first post

I have confirmed by Xray OA fingers, wrist, big toe and little toe, cervical spine and calcific tendonits shoulder.

Just recently I  had aching in lots of joints thigh, hands, shoulder , feet and fingers. It came on suddenly, lasted for a few days and has diminished somewhat.

A few years ago I had pain in my chest. Xray showed nothing but Dr said could be costo condoritis. It went away as quickly as it came.

Because of having pain in many joints all of a sudden I believe there has to be a type of Rhuematoid arthritis factor.

I am sure I had a blood test years ago and it showed I didnt have RA

I think that I will have to have another blood test now

Has anyone else had unexplained aching which has come and gone so quickly ?

Just because your RA test came back negative doesn't mean that you don't have RA. However, RA usually affects the fingers first. My first signs were aching in the fingers which I ignored. I then noticed that some of my fingers were becoming crooked, which was confirmed by x-ray and blood test. So no pain whatsoever in my life until one month ago, but enough damage done to disfigure my fingers and toes.

If it were oesteoarthritis, to get that degree of wear you would have had some kind of pain over a period of time (years). To me it sounds like some kind of inflammatory arthritis (hence your suspicion of RA).

Have you had any bad viral infections in the past, i.e. bad gastro, shingles? Inflammatory arthritis (well RA) is an auto-immune disease. Viruses sometimes stay in the body and wreck havoc, hence RA.
