Hi, I have been receiving Remicade since October of last year for my RA and on my last two infusions i have had reactions both times. Now before my infusion I receive IV Solumedrol and IV Benadryl. I also take MXT 15mg each week. After this last infusion I have been so tired and experiencing more joint pain, inspite of my infusion. Can anyone tell me if they have had this happen to them. I really dont want to have my doses increased, they have been increased twice now....cant seem to get myself moving again, by now i normally be feeling so much better....

Hi auntiemom, Welcome to HealingWell,
When I used to be on Remicade in the past I never had any problems with the med. I would ask your Rheumy doctor about
Humira, Enbrel these drugs you self inject. I am on Enbrel and have no fatigue.

I'm on Enbrel and have no fatigue. However, when I was on methotrexate (assuming this is MXT?) for 6 years up until a month ago, I did experience some fatigue. Now, I'm only on Enbrel with a modified diet and taking daily supplements.

I have increases fatigue as well, I am not on those meds mind you. I have mentioned it to my rhuemy, and my family doctor.....I am unsure if they really listen or not. My family doctor may have finally BUT only enough to tell me she thinks I have fibromayalgia too. I have been reading many posts and most say RA and fibromayalgia symptoms DO have increased fatigue....so just put my medical "experts" ignoring me down to that. If you think it is your meds doing it definitley talk to your rhuemy, and hopefully they will listen to you. Good Luck, hope you get it sorted out.

I'm considering starting Enbrel. I was diagnosed with RA 5 years ago and methotrexate, methylprednolosone, & plaquenil have slowed joint damage, but I have awful fatigue that makes it hard to work and keep house. I also am very stiff since my dr decreased the steroid. If I take more steroid, I feel somewhat better, but anxious and struggle with weight gain.

I am in the same boat as you.... I feel better witht the steroids but have to increase then decrease.... I struggle with weight gain as well. thought when I went on plaquenil weight would get better but not.... I take cimzia as well as the other things. The pain is better but fatigue is awful...

I am on Cimzia, now. I've taken in the past, Enbrel, Rhemicade, Humira and I think the Cimzia has helped the most of all of them. I always have fatigue...I don't see any difference from the injections. Benedryl in itself will make you fatigued, as I take 2 at bedtime to help with a stuffy head due to chronic allergies, and they help make me sleepy. Unfortunately, they don't help me stay asleep, as I wake frequently due to the pain. I have been on steroids as a last resort due to major flares with my ulcerative colitis, but I don't tolerate steroids well, so I don't take them unless I'm deathly ill with a uc flare. It seems that fatigue is just one of the things we have to deal with. I hope you get to feeling better.
