MTX and Arava, BadDay?

Hi, BadDay...I was reading the RA post and saw your signature said you were on both of these meds. I have been on MTX for almost 5 yrs and a new Rheum prescribed Arava. I decided not to switch after bringing that info to my usual Rheum due to possible side effects and not wanting to start all over again with a tiny dose. I had no idea you could take both. Details, please?

Sorry for the late reply I haven't been online for a while
I was taking Both MTX & Arava
it is quite common to mix 2 or more treatments I was on Methotrexate for a few years before they added Arava I didn't really notice any great difference However I have since stopped MTX due to side effects so am now just on Arava & Prednisone I think I was on MTX for 10yrs total but ended up with brain issues so having a break from it to see if improves
I did find Arava a lot easier to tolerate overall you just need to keep a watch on your liver
