Hospital

Hi everyone:

Well, I ended up in the hospital on Friday night and was released yesterday. I was having a mixed episode and I was suicidal, so they've changed my diagnosis. Still bipolar, obviously, but now Not Otherwise Specified (or NOS) as opposed to Bipolar II. Some of you may have that wacky diagnosis too.

I'm no longer experiencing frantic mania nor suicidal thoughts (thank god) but I'm a little "bruised" feeling. I'm tired and trying very hard to remember the lessons of all the dang therapy. I'm here but I may be a little subdued for a little while.

So very sorry to hear about what has been going on with you!

You have been through so much!

Is your new job being put on hold?  Do you think taking this position might have tipped you over the edge with adding too much responsibility?  Just curious.  Was the decision perhaps made to fast?  I don't know...just looking for some answers.  I was really shocked to hear about your new position that you had taken on considering all that you had just been through with almost ending up in the hospital shortly before that.

I want you to take care of yourself missy!    Maybe it's time for you to consider an outpatient program to kick start remembering all the things that may help you go into the right direction for yourself?  I don't know?

I just want you to concentrate on listening to your therapist and doing whatever it takes to keep you in a safe, tolerable place for yourself right now.

I'm seeing a new psych who thinks I may not be bipolar (!!!!) and that I'm definitely overmedicated. One doc put me on Abilify and that seems to have made me manic. The hospital put me on lithium, though, and if anything is going to help, that will, right? I'm teaching again and that's going well, just part time -- 2 classes. So that's me.
