could my depakote be low? to high?

my parents who i live with say ive been acting zombie quote on quote like lately.  they say i walk around the the house disorented and confused  could this be due to either to high or to low levels of depakote? im on 1750mg at night  and i take it religoiusly. my mom wants to call my pych dr tommorrow should i let her? I dont notice anything.confused

Welcome to HealingWell and to the bipolar board. I'm sorry I wasn't around this weekend to say hello. I think you should let your mom call your doc. Sometimes our families are more reliable than we are in perceiving how we are acting. I rely on my husband to let me know when my behavior starts tilting one way or the other. I was also overmedicated last year, and I thought it was okay, but it was freaking everyone else out. It was better once we got it sorted out.

thanks serafena. she took me to my pych dr he is doing a mild ajustment to my depakote (he thinks its low) until wednesday when i have my depakote level drawn. i also have seizures and very bad migraines so it is crucial i get a proper depakote level. he also (the pych dr said i apeared highly anxoius.. thank you again for the answer.

Well that sounds okay. I'm surprised he is upping the dosage, but I'm sure he knows best how depakote works. I sure don't. :) Good luck and let us know how you're feeling.

It is possible for your levels to be too high, which can be toxic. Or it can bee too low, then it can be of no benefit to you. Please let us know how your results are when they come in.

I finally got the levels back they were low got put to dosages of 2000 mg of depakote
