There are a few people on here I would LOVE to email, facebook, even call on the phone when things get rough.

If anyone is interested...  how can we do that without putting our information public?  or calling out a name of who we want to exchange information with (don't want to hurt feelings!)

Hear ya Tort. I have 2 emails, would use the one I kept for inquiries, etc. that are liablle to generate spam. I use Yahoo for that. Just got so out of "Spam hand", that I then got Gmail and ignored Yahoo for ages. Actually vice versa would be easiest. Gmail is real easy for avoiding unwanted attention.
Hope someone out there has the "key".

I'm new here...isn't there a way to private message someone? Sorry if I should know this, just haven't checked out all the features yet

Not that I know of. You had the option of including your email in your profile. No one seems to do that. I get curious as to where certain people are from, and have looked. Just click on their posting name. It seems that we are all "unlisted", ha ha.
I guess you could always put a troublesome visitor in spam to shield yourself. Or get rid of your Facebook wall and just take the private msgs. , or keep the wall and click remove if someone is putting up inappropriate matter. Also block this person is available. Haven't tried these things, well, yes, have removed almost everyone's posts as I feel like a spy reading all that. And none of these "friends" know anything about one another. Its such a public bulletin board.

If we're in chat, we can exchange information privately. However, getting into chat at the same time can be hard!

There is a blue bar right above the thread title. On the right side is "Chat" in white text. Click it and a dialogue box opens up. Choose the chat room and login.

I'll go into chat now - see if you can meet me there. :)

     Ok, I got into my profile and made my e-mail address visable. E-mailing was how I got

     to know a group of wonderful women. We stayed together for years and even met,

     but as things go we have drifted apart. It was still a great experience.

  

     E-mailing can be a good way of talking about something that you might not

     feel like posting on a open message board for whatever reason.

Was also going to say that I see common interests with some people that would be funto discuss away from strictly bipolar discussion. Plus it's good to think about other things that be obsessed/dominanted by the diesease. :)

I've made my email address public also. As I said in my intro post, I met my very best friends online, through the Harry Potter fandom - crazy yes, but hey, good people :) - so I know firsthand what wonderful people you can meet through environments like this. Please, feel free to email me :)

I like the group this time.

You all are very supportive and seem to give out great advice.
