My Dr just prescribed me Abilify a couple days ago. Since it's a aintpsychotic drug I was wondering if she is thinking I am having psychotic episodes. Can anyone give me an example of what that is? Like your account of your psychosis. Thank you.

No, the class of drug does not mean that you are experiencing psychosis. :) My mood stabilizer is classified as an anti-seizure medication - but I do not have a seizure disorder.

Psychotic symptoms are severe, your Dr. would definitely talk about it with you and would likely recommend hospitalization to get you stable.

i'm on abilify and not in psychosis. i take mine with lamictal to try to stabalize my moods

There are several anti-psychotic medications out there that are prescribed as mood stabilizers. There are also anti-convulsants that are prescribed for bipolar disorder.

Unfortunately, I have taken most. None of them meant that I was psychotic, but each of them had a different effect on me. It takes patience to find the right medications to suite your individual chemical makeup.

For me, Abilify provided an uplift in mood with almost no side effects.
