Friday... It's time for our Weekend Check In Thread...

Check-in and let us know how was your week, and your upcoming plans for the weekend. Let us know how you're doing, or share anything you'd like.

I've been busy all morning. Its a busy work day for me. I'll post more later.

So it was an extremely busy day at work. Still busy though. 11:03pm here and I'm completing stuff for work still. I'm feeling a bit sleepy though so I decided to check in here and then I'm going to head to bed.

Well, my weekend would be finishing stuff for work. I also have my orientation program to complete for school. I am really hoping I can complete that this weekend.

I have a flyer to design and I'm not feeling any creativity coming on... I started earlier in the office, but no luck. I think I lost my designing mojo.

My niece birthday is on Sunday. My mom reminded me this evening. I did not get her anything as yet. Maybe I will give her the cash.

Bad days Friday and Saturday. Cause - Depakote. Off it now and back on lithium in the interim, which has made a difference already. Friday and Saturday, I had to force myself to get out of bed, and despite all the yardwork I did, it didn't help my mood any at all. Today back at it again, and the exercise is making somewhat of a difference - so I am not at the very bottom today as I was the past two days. - Taygeta

I experienced vivid dreams with Depakote as well many years ago.

I have been in bed and very depressed all weekend.

Have not even watched any television or anything at all.

Hi Tom,

Sorry to hear that about your weekend. I can relate completely. Have been that depressed more times than I care to think about. I will end up sleeping a lot too when that happens - hoping the sleep will somehow cause the depression to go away.

The vivid dreams with depakote are something else. Unfortunately, I had to stop depakote entirely within two weeks because it really was causing my depression to get worse. I pray that you will break through your depression some and start to feel better. I truly believe only those who have experienced such depression understand the pain it causes to those who go through it. I empathize with you completely. - Taygeta

neck issues, light head, feeling faint and tingling head. like numb dry ice in neck. had it for a while but flared. called nurse on call. they asked me to go to emergency. bugger that. swept and moped yesterday. hot shower, gel and half a val has helped. still hard as a rock, just below nape. always has been. riddled with arthritis. i have been doing excessive stretching for relief, nurse said no more.

Have you ever tried magnesium? I got whiplash in an auto accident, which didn't help my cervical fusion and replacement disc. I went through over a year of therapy with not great results. Then months later I ran across magnesium, which is essential to muscle relaxation. I took 2 magnesium citrate daily with food and within days my neck muscles started to react to therapy. They finally gave way. I take either 1 or 2 mag citrate most days. 2 pills equals 250 mg. It has helped a lot. The only side effect I ever get is loose bowels on occasion from the citrate form. Well worth the price as I can work out my stiff neck muscles with the help of magnesium when I have problems - which I am told I will have forever as whiplash never truly goes away. - Taygeta

Taygeta, I have pain issues to to whiplash from a car accident. I lost my natural curve and I think because my neck is a bit long it cases more pain. I use Tramadol when it extreme and normal pain meds (Advil) when it's not so painful. I will research magnesium and see if it would be helpful for me too.
