Hi,
I am just wondering if there are any success stories out there for those of you that have been diagnosed as being bipolar and have had success with certain medications. My sister is in a really bad state right now, possibly due to the medication that she is on. She has been given Celexa and she has had so much increased horrible anxiety that she has ended up in the hospital. I hope that the dr's will change her meds, but she has been suffering for 6 years. I feel that I get much better information from this forum than you do from doctors. So, just hoping someone could tell me what they have had success with, even though I know everyone is different. I think her husband has given up, so I cannot count on him.
Healing thoughts to all,
CQ

I cant tell you that I was on Celexa and it did not have that effect on me. I am now on Paxil and I love it. While I did have and so have most an increase in anxiety at first it did taper off. I will also say that most all SSRI's cause a spike in anxiety upon start up and it does take between 6 and 12 weeks for the body and brain to get the dosage that will help.
Now if your sister feels that the meds are not helping or the side effects are too much she needs to talk to her doctor about
that.
Hope that this helps.

thank you dawn,
My sister has been on several different ones, but she seems to go in a cycle. Unfortunately she is really bad right now and is in hospital. I pray it gets easier for her. Her husband can't or won't deal with it anymore. Are you on anything else besides the paxil? I was on paxil before. It took some time to work but eventually it kept me well for about
10 years. Now I am on Zoloft and that took time too. Again thank you. Hope you are well. Cq

Thank you ua. I hope so too. They are switching her to Zoloft so I am praying it won't be a difficult switch. As you may know, switching medications can be a challenge. Thanks again. The support from this forum gives me and others a sense of peace. Cq
