I posted awhile back after getting out of a facility after five months and things were not going well so I left ama. I went to an outpatient facility and they changed almost all my medications due to me being like a zombie so I started feeling better well the anti-depressant they put me on through me into a full blown manic episode. There were a lot of stressors in my life before and even now so I felt like I had no control over anything so I started getting off the wall again and this time it was bad. I didn't sleep for two and a half days and didn't know what to do so I hated my hair so I just shaved it off and I am still recovering from it. Today they made even more changes to my meds and took me off of the ant-depressent completely for now. I am so tired of all this and do not know how much more I can take. I am not suicidal and I see a therapist but I just lose it out of nowhere. What should I do????? This has been the worst year of my life besides when my son died a few years ago.

A day in the life of a bipolar. Was wondering if they put you on a anti depressant, if they also had you on a stabilizer such as the Lithium I'm on now to keep my anti-depressant (Mirtazapine) from throwing me into mania?

You say, "Today they made even more changes to my meds and took me off of the anti-depressant completely for now." So, like this is going on in real time. Like, you're phoning this one in from the ward. Yikes! This is as it happens. Wow! We're getting a front row seat.

It's good that you phoned it in. Again, did they put you on an anti-depressant but with no stabilizer such as I'm taking, Lithium?

You say, "I see a therapist but I just lose it out of nowhere. What should I do????? This has been the worst year of my life besides when my son died a few years ago." Sorry to hear about your son. I'm thinking we'll have to wait to see about the new medicines you'll be getting.

In the meantime, we still need some help, so, are they giving you any therapy? Are there other patients you can talk with? I've been in those places, so you're probably getting good care. As for "I just lose it out of nowhere," as a bipolar, my temper can go off at any second, even with medicine, ask some of my neighbors.

Do you think you can keep it in the road until they give you some new medicine? Have they told you when that might be? Again, it's good that you phoned in for help.

Ru seeing a bi polar specialist? If not, best ya do. I shave me head, but via choice. You got some extra stuff going on that may have triggered ya, maybe the wrong med but maybe you needed to ride it out? Depends on how long U been eating it.

Coping strategies help. Ya reaching out, so good on ya. Being proactive with bi polar is crucial. I feel with the right treatment by a skilled bi polar shrink you will do much better for you got good insight.

Try not best yourself up, sometimes crap happens. You know ya head best, so tell the specialist what's what. Positive thoughts from the turtle. Keep strong. HT

I now am on Geodon 40mg twice a day, Lamictal 200mg twice a day and Ingrezza for movements which is a life saver because of my tardive dyskinesia. That is all I'm on right now she told me she may put me on another anti-depressant, but wants to wait and see. I will ask her to put me back on Prozac because it worked for me for a long time. My situation at home is better then it's ever been so I'm crossing my fingers and hopefully I wont get depressed before I see my doctor again.

It's good that you're back on some medicine.

And that, "My situation at home is better then it's ever been so I'm crossing my fingers and hopefully I wont get depressed before I see my doctor again.'

It sounds like things are going well. Being positive has helped me deal with my issues. Oh, you're in an outpatient situation.

Lot of times they can help you as well on an outpatient basis as inside. They just keep trying different medicine until they can find one or more that can work. Let us know how things are going at home.
