I'm told this is a thing. Is anyone familiar?

I believe it is. Maybe referred to as moodiness. I use to be moody. I am not technically bi-polar but I have depression. I find that I can become angry easy. Not now as much as I did when I was younger. Though it could of been a learned habit. Due to my family history. So I think you can be bi-polar and not necessarily be manic. Just my opinion...

I am curious to see what others say. Like I say that is just my opinion. My mother was manic depressive and wasn't necessarily manic. She was very moody though.

Yes you can. The purists will debunk this as it not exacting to the mania and the depression. Bp2 is more on the depressive and now i too have learnt that you can have bi polar without exhibiting mania or being manic. Not ofey on the name given it...

I have always felt I had a little bipolar tendencies. I value your input.
The abilify helps me a lot too. And that is mostly for bipolar though I take it for a mood stabilizer.

Thanks, all. I've heard the bipolar diagnosis here, but usually associate it with the mania, which I don't have.

I'm VERY moody, Karen. I can have a block of 3-4 days that are basically the same and one of those days is usually complete garbage and I can't explain it or any triggers since the days are seemingly identical. I don't get it.

Naybe more mixed mood...without the mania. I have mixed with the mania.

Thx karen. Abilify good for xhaotic thoughts. It is used for varied conditions. HT

I can get extremely moody Smooth, But the abilify helps me with that I think. I have always been that way and easy to anger.

Other than the abilify I guess that living in the moment helps.. Some. Trying to look at other people's point of view when people cause it. Keeping things quiet and trying to meditate helps too. Breathing exercises. This all helps me with anxiety too.

Being moody is hard, but we can work on it.

If someone has both mania and depression issues, they have bi-polar disorder.

But if they only have the depression and not the mania, then they'd be diagnosed with depression (otherwise known as uni-polar disorder), right?

Not necessarily. The purists would agree...even i would until i have engaged a bi polar expert in regards to asking about this. HT
