Wife diagnosed with BC...im scared, shes scared.

HI, im usually on the UC board, haven't been there in awhile because ive been in remission. I recognize Sherbear from the UC board.. Anyway, my wife was just diagnosed with bc today. She got the call to come into the doctor asap and he told her the news..There's no history of bc in her family. Breast feed our kids for like two years..she has an appt with the oncologist on Wednesday. Shes a school teacher, 1st grade..she has had like 4 or 5 other teachers at the school get it.. We have two little girls 8 and 12 and we have to tell them..this is really hard. I guess we just wait and see what the oncologist has to say on Wednesday.

So sorry to hear this. I really can't even imagine the thoughts going through both your minds. I'm hoping that it was caught very early for her. I have a friend who just last Fall finished a years worth of chemo. She is in remission and I pray she stays that way. Please let me know what the oncologist says. I will be praying for your family.

thanks for the note..went to oncologist yesterday..she has stage 2. has to do Chemo first and then a lumpectomy. we have a long road ahead but he says this type is very common and curable. Hope she can get thought this. thanks for you concern

Oh I am sorry to hear this. My heart goes out to you and your wife and the kids too. She will get through it. It may not be easy but she will. Just support her and when people offer to help by cooking, cleaning, taking the kids whatever. Let them do it!!

My friend told me the biggest thing she had to tell herself while going through treatment is that it is ok to not be ok.

I'll be thinking of you and praying for you.

Update: wife is done with 6 rounds of Chemo and did pretty well through it believe it or not..The doctors were pleased. Her tumor shrunk alot, almost to where you cant feel it anymore. MRI came back good, but we go and see the surgeon this week. They think she is going to still have to have the mastectomy. Was hoping it was going to be a lumpectomy. Luckily it didn't spread to lympnodes, etc..know more soon. thanks

Sorry for the delayed reply, I'm away on vacation. I personally would want a mastectomy. But that is just me. Not spreading to the lymph nodes is great news!

yup she did the mastectomy , both sides. didnt want to have to go through with this again on the other side and she has dense breasts. This has been a long road and its not even over yet.

I did not know ,that the Chronic pain. In my jaw, upper torso and face could possibly be...MS....and I asked my Dr about the test...he said Spinal tap...that was it!!!but I did get him to test me for Lymexample disease, Ebstien bar an other stuff having to do with my thyroid!!! gives me the paper diet every month....😒his PA does this too!!! This is really nice for what really a Iles me.......I KNOW MY OWN BODY! SO WHYYY DONT THEY LISTEN? He won't even refer me to speacialist!!! I'm assessing my own health...writingQ&A is this a good thing or not?

It's me again....I see these changes in my face....these muscle spasms are constantrying wearing me out! It's exhausting an I have had these not to mention
My legs ,arms and hands for more than 8yrs....I was diagnosed with Fibro by a Dr in phx...I have degenerative spine and disc Disease Ihave lost 2iniches off of my Height. My nurse practitioner who came to my home for yearly exam"that's NOT GOOD THAT means ur spine is compressing....I asked my dr..for referral to get my MRI updated...I even brought him a copy of my MRI I had done in 2013 ..I was DENIED!!! BECAUSE PRIMARY GAVE NO INFO REGARDING THIS REQUEST.....
I'M SORRY EVERYONE JUST NERVOUS & SCARED TO DEATH!

Did you mean to post in the MS forum...or Chronic Pain Forum...or Lyme Disease forum?

I'm sorry you are suffering so much and are scared.
