Hello ESME,
I do know what you mean. I worked full time and then part time out of the home until I
retired. Then, I volunteered. My conditions flared up these last two-three years and I found I
was able to go fewer places. That's because my immunity was weakened and I could easily catch
very bad colds and even pneumonia in schools and other places I had gone before.
I know that cabin fever feeling you speak of in winters especially. I live in northern CA
and we do get rain and dampness in the winter. Most days I'm able to go out and that's good.
It's hard to say what to do without knowing where you live and more about you.
I know that I have signed up in the last two months for 'day trips'. (Also I don't know
your finances.) but those are tours that go to some very scenic and cool places. This
has lifted my spirits and given me something to look forward to Have you thought of just
taking a vacation? I'm a big believer in 'going places that interest you'. It could be a
day at an art museum, a play, a movie. These things have kept me from getting so
isolated. Those are local things and not too expensive. Also, yes, finding a local
support group can also be most helpful if you're able to drive or even take a bus.
As far as moving, I would attempt to check it out ahead of time. Also, I feel
that initially you may feel better but you may become disenchanted later.
These are just a few of my thoughts and I hope they may be of some help
