hi,

I'm new here and not really sure if I am posting under the correct forum...

I have been dealing with this lonely undiagnosed journey for the past 6 to 7 years until finally last year February blood tests revealed that I have Rickettsia.

What?!? I have never heard of such a disease, however, I felt a tremendous relief for finally having a name to put to this horrible illness.

Been to doctor after doctor and in all those years no one could figure out what was wrong with me, I have learned to live with the symptoms and even tried to ignore them as I felt so ashamed.

I've been hanging on with a positive attitude while on the treatment for almost a year now, with ups and downs, good and bad days. The past month I feel like it's not getting better and I'm feeling rather discouraged about ever having my life back.

I am interested to see what treatment programs other people are on who also has Rickettsia to see if I am on the right path.

Thanks and hoping to find some help on this forum.

I know how you feel. I completed a course of antibiotics a few months ago. I am holding in there

Hello. I am new to this forum. I am looking to get more information about rickettsia infection/exposure. I have been sick for 8 years...been to many rheumatologists, neurologists, endocrinologists, and physiatrists. I have been diagnosed with premature arthritis, fibromyalgia, connective tissue disorder (non-specific)....and all these diagnoses don't ever seem quite right in my mind. I recently tested positive for rickettsia (SMRF). There isn't a lot of information online about chronic symptoms of rickettsia. All I found was this connection with CFS. That diagnosis doesn't quite match my symptoms exactly either. I do get fatigued but more so I have random muscle and joint pain, brain fog, memory problems, neck pain, sleep issues, anxiety, agitation.....

I have had to go on disability because of my condition. I seem to be getting worse each year.

Any help, words of comfort, information would be greatly appeciated.

Hi, not sure what Ricksettsia is but the other symptoms all sound like Fibromyalgia. My rheumatologist diagnosed me with Fibro, and said that if you have one, you have the other, meaning Chronic Fatigue.

I know this is an older discussion, but has anyone found any help for the rickettsia infection? I have just been dx with the infection , but I must have had it 8 years ago. Not sure what to do now...Julz
