The most horrible night so far!!

Ok now it's time for me to have my pity party. Cake is on the table.....punch from PA's slumber party is there too along with some nuts....mints and other various goodies to snack on. So sit back and let me tell you my tale of woe it's long (sorry about that), its painful and its filled with tears and sleeplessness.

Last night I had the most horrible night so far in my 6 years of straight pain career that I have been dealing with. I headed outdoors around 9:30pm with a bag of trash cause hubby forgot to put out the garbage for the trash pick up on Friday and we missed the pick up. So since the trashcan in the house was full and I couldn't fit another thing in it I bundled it up (wasn't feeling to bad at that point and time) and headed out the front door. Now to explain our main trash refuse is just right off the front porch on the left hand side, so it's not a huge jont to the trash to haul the garbage. But the winds last night were horrible blowing at 40mph and my porch was at probably 20 degrees on the concrete. I was in my bare feet when I stepped out the door and felt it as soon as I hit the concrete.....it was as though someone took a hot knife and stuck it in my left buttock and pressed downward. Well needless to say this about dropped me to my knees right there but the wind was so terrible I mustered all the strength I could and hobbled towards the trashcan and dropped the sack into it shut the lid, and limped back into the house.

Hubby at once noticed my limp when I came around the corner into sight and hurried to the door. He helped me inside and sat me down on the couch and rubbed my upper leg as I cried out in pain. That didn't help and he helped me into the bathroom got me undressed and started to run a hot bath to warm me up. Helping me into the tub, I laid back and relaxed and hubby headed to make my bed on the couch. Meanwhile I'm laying there in the tub trying to get my leg to uncramp but it was not cooperating and finally I gave up and decided to get out of the tub. I managed to get out by myself and headed for the couch only making it by a few inches before collapsing on the couch and assuming the fetal position and stayed there. Fell asleep finally at 9:30pm and woke up writhing in pain thinking it was two am but to my surprise and horror it was only 11:45pm!!! The pain had returned with full vengeance!!!!!!!!! I literately crawled on the floor to the bathroom to the tub, ran the hottest bath water I could stand and crawled in. I laid there in the water praying for relief crying but hubby didn't hear me...he was soooo tired he was sound asleep. I don't think anything could have woken him. Finally I could take no more and stumbled out of the tub hobbled back to the couch and now was fully awake (which is probably why I was on here PA at midnight last night).

Well....to make a long story short I think I finally fell asleep around 3:30am after taking two muscle relaxers and a pain pill and laying there praying for an end to the horrible pain. Only to be woke at 4 by my dogs wanting out.....then again at 6 by the dogs again AGGGGGGGG!!!!!! I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tired and still in pain!!!!!!! Thank god I can tak my big pain meds soon then I am going to go to sleep and I hope that when I do wake the next time.....my pain is gone. Yes its still howling at me.....it's still beating me around.......I am still crying......and I still am trying to control my emotions that want to scream my head off!

Oh no! You had to crawl in a dirty attic????? Yikes!!! You wouldn't catch me doing that! I hate just going into the basement! Thank you so much for the hugs hunny I do appreciate them. Its been such an awful day and I feel so dreary. My left leg is now down to a dull ache for the moment only cause my muscle relaxer and pain pill have kicked in and I either really don't care or I just am dull to the senses ya know? But that will wear off soon and I will be back in full roar mode so I'm just enjoying the lessen pain while I can.

How about we take a little ride in the Vette's?

Scarred.....BIG GENTLY HUGS being sent your way....im so sorry that you had such a horrible night! How are you feeling now???? Let's hope you get some rest tonight, and tell those dogs to BE QUITE!!!! lol, i have dogs that pace all night, so i feel for you!

If we want Scarred to feel better, we have to take her for a ride in the corvette (top down, of course).

Ok, Scarred, let us know when you're ready to be picked up!

BTW, Scarred, I finished all the red M&M's I have and won't buy anymore so you can have them all to yourself. I've now started on the green ones!!

My butt hurts so bad. Just took pain meds and now waiting for them to kick in. Oh, the waiting.

But I'm ready for the Golden Gate! Hey, we could drive across it to Saulsalito! And have dinner on the water and watch the S.F. skyline. How's that sound? Everyone's welcome!!!

And maybe somewhere along the line we could pick me out a new clothes dryer? Wait....I'd better win the lotto first.

Back in the cars we go!

I went to San Francisco about 4 months ago ~ one scary place!

((((((hugs)))) Scarred . I hope your pain has subsided and you was able to get some rest.

I think PA using our imaginations and closing our eyes picturing us being there helps take us away from our pain for a little while. One thing I was taught in Biofeedback and through my pain Psychologist was that imagining yourself in another place is helpful in distracting you from your pain. It also makes for a really cool flashback :-D I have what I call my "Special Place" that I have created in my mind and going there helps me take away the stress....lower the pain a bit and helps me come down when I'm in one of my moods where I am angry or just plain bummed out. I don't know if any of my CPers were taught the candle method where you picture the pain as a flame on a candle and your making the flame smaller and smaller until it finally goes out...but this is similar to that only its a little more detailed. I focus on a point in the room and that is where my eyes stay as my mind roam away to my special place.

It really does help. The tai Chai helps with the inner balance and I've found that by using the focusing part of it I can bring my body, mind and soul into balance so that when I do start to head for my special place I am totally focused on that one place and can easily shut out every thing around me. Anyway...it works well for me.

I had a blast last night PA. I could picture seeing the beautiful bridge and the water below it rushing by.
