Hi Betsy, this is just one more example of what we have to go through to get not even what we want but what we must have to keep going.
I have said this before and I will continue, I wish no harm to anyone, but if some of these doctors, receptionist, nurses, lawyers and the list goes on, had to walk one day in our shoes, things might be different.
Years ago, when I was struggling with trying to maintain my meds, and realized finally I could not work anymore, I happened upon an article in our newspaper (I live in the Washington D.C., area in Maryland) The article was in the Washington Post, it was about a doctor who I believe was a general practioner, whose by his own admission, was very skeptical about pain management and the treatments for this disease.
Then in the blink of an eye his entire life changed, he was in a car accident, his life was never the same. He then knew what all of us cp patients have known for a long time. He became a pain management doctor, opened his own practice and began treating his patients with respect, compassion and a whole new level of what it takes, what we have to live with every day.
I realize I have ranted on and I am sorry, I said all that just to say, I am so sorry for all you must endure at the same time in constant pain. Please keep on fighting for what is your rights.
Tender hugs to you, I am hoping you will feel better, and will be praying for you during your surgery, and will pray for you after it. Good luck, I wish I could do more, it makes me so angry at what you have to go thru.
