RA flair- thank God for my RN husband

Left church today at 8/10 pain. Somebody get the name of the mac truck that hit me.
Concerned going to the ER from church, but my hubby can take better care of me at home. Left the minivan that I drove at church and had Rob drive me home with all of us squished in the car.
He gave me vicodin 5/500mg that I was supposed to get rid of when I got the tramadol and had me take 100mg extra tramadol when I got in to bed. Put on the Pensaid and Voltaren topicals and had me go to sleep. I woke at about 6/10, 7 if I move around too much. Food in my system, ice on several joints, kiss the kids goodnight, and I should be back to sleep shortly.
He really is a blessing to me.
Hopefully this flair will just last the day. I have guests coming for a bible study tomorrow night, groceries need bought, and a large good-bye party at my house Tuesday night. Can't afford more than 1 day in bed.
Of all the terrible times to get a flair.
The thing is, with all the heat and pain I have, I am not balloon-like swollen like the Medical drs expext me to be. I am blown off because I don't present textbook perfect. I get better treatment for my pain at home.
Sleep meds kicking in- wish me luck in waking w/o flair. I can dream, right?

One thing I've learned over time...dreams are still free~ no one has found a way to tax them yet. lol

Pain at about a 6 this morning. Good enough to eat and pull out a move later. Not good enough to make my own food standing and walking about the kitchen, and not good enough for the cleaning That needs to be done before guests arrive tonight.

I am sorry you are so miserable. Is there any way that you can have the bible study moved to another person's house tonight. I feel quite sure if you let one of them know the shape you are in right now they would be more than glad to help you out with this.

I hope you can get some relief real soon. I agree with you, care at home is much better than what we get in hospitals. I can remember a time when a person went into the hospital they actually were cared for, not these days.

Are you serious, your flare is over with that quick???? Well, that is great no doubt. I m just floored, never knew anyone get past a flare this fast. My sister has RA and her flares last much longer.

Yes it is incredibly short. I have no idea what happened, but I feel much better. I still have pain, sure, but it's not nearly as bad. Granted, as I moved around more today I have gotten more sore, and I still cant make the motion to brush my hair, but I feel like a whole separate person. Usualy it takes at least a week or more to even stop building hither, let alone get better.
I'll take it and be happy.

That's great news Christina. I wish my pain flair was that short. I'm so glad for you.
