Welcome! Welcome! Countrydad!
Were so glad you decided to join us here on the Chronic Pain forum!…however, were equally sorry for the pain that brought you here!
You have found a wonderful forum, full of members who understand what Chronic Pain is all about
. I doubt you will find a better bunch on the web!, and unless a person suffers from it, they can never understand. This includes family, friends, and coworkers.
There are several of us here that suffer some sort of back pain, and I happen to be one of them! I had a double lumbar fusion back in 2010, and now suffer from Failed Back Syndrome, (FBS)... plus cervical pain because of a couple of bulges. I see that you had an MRI done and that will give you more information than an x-ray or CT scan will, so thats good, and will allow a better diagnoses if that is indeed the problem.
Physical Therapy may be one of the first types of treatment your PCD may suggest if you have confirmed back problems, and an injection, such as an "Epidural" may be suggested if the PT fails to give you relief. Of course then there are pain med's, and the last resort maybe corrective surgery. If you are in need of pain med's for relief, you may want to consider a PM (Pain Management Dr) for treatment. They understand the scope of med's much more than a PCD will.
I hope for your sake that your Chronic Pain is short lived, ...however, from what you describe, it sounds like you are just getting started for a journey many of us have been dealing with for a long time.
Please do let us know what the report says when you get it back, and consider making this forum your chronic pain home. We have many, many members here and we are a family of sorts, and I think you will enjoy them greatly.
Feel free to seek support here anytime, and if your able to help others with your experience, we will take that as well.
Take care, and again enjoy the forum, and be sure to check out the "Chronic Pain 101" located at the top of our forum page!
