Hello Stephen!...Welcome!...Welcome!...to our Chronic Pain forum!
Your story has been told here many times by young Chronic Pain members, and we understand where yor coming from. We feel for you, and hope you can get this taken care of, but either having a heart to heart talk with your Dr, or possibly going on to find another.
I see that your on heavy pain meds. May I ask what you are currently taking and what dose it is? What were you taking before, when you had an excellent Dr?
Stick around, and we will be happy to support you, and I'm sure you will make many friends along the way as well. We do understand Chronic Pain here on this forum, so feel free to visit, and ask questions as you wish.
Take care,

I am currently taking 12 mg hydromorph contin, 2 every 12 hours. Before I had been taking 1 12mg hydromorph contin every 12 hours plus 2 5mg oxycodone 4 times a day.
I'm glad that I have found other people I can talk to about
this.
I tried doing the heart to heart at my last appointment, telling him that I just want to get my life back on track. However he continues to hold his position. I just find it insane that a GP feels he knows better than the Dean of Medicine for a major hospital and a dedicated Pain Clinic.
