I have filled out a form from cpp disability and my dr. sent in her forms.  CPP wrote me back asking for my income tax return from 2011 and my income records to date so far in 2012.  I am self employed.  Why are they asking for this information?

Also, can you work at all on CPP?  Even just 10 hrs a week?  I'm so afraid to just sink into nothing but pain and depression.

Also, do you receive less if you are married and your spouse has an income?

I hope someone can answer my questions.

Hi Bran and welcome.

I'm not sure what CPP is. Is that like SSDI? I'm not a doctor or a lawyer, but I did recently win my disability case.

My experience was that when I applied for SSDI I had to provide proof of all my earnings for several years as well as all of my medical records. How much you are allowed to work while trying to get disability is not based on hours but earnings.

I'm very happily divorced so I have no idea on the spouse questions.

Could you provide a little background on yourself and the cause of your pain? It's easier to get opinions when we know what's going on with you.

        I'm sorry, I have absolutely zero experience with CCP disability, but wanted to bump up this thread in hopes that one of our members may be able to comment and offer a suggestion or two.

    Is there a possibilty  that there is a phone number on the form that you can call and ask this?

        Keep checking back here, and maybe someone will know more about it.

Hi Branbud, Welcome to the CP Forum. Same here, Don't have a clue what CPP is. By Chance is it Canada Pension Plan? If so, we have some Canadians here that may have the info you seek. Like SE says, Keep checking back. Just wanted to Welcome You and wish you good luck on finding the info you need.

I might be able to help, cpp is Canada pension plan add a d and that's disability.
They need all your income tax because they need to see you have paid into cpp. This is very important because you have to meet the qualifying period. As for working I know I had to prove total disability to be approved. I would call them and ask.
I have been in the battle since 2008 with them jumping through their hoops. Be prepared this is not easy to get but if I can be of any help just ask.

Please help ! I need any information i can get on winning my appeal with cpp disability, I am so lost , i am in constant pain to the point i can barely walk, what am i doing wrong ? why do they keep putting me off i have requested a call back for the last 4 weeks and no one has even so much as contacted by phone,mail email anything , is this a good thing or bad thing, i called today they said things were being processed , now does that mean another denial? i am so confused on how this works !
