Has anyone gotten anitbiotics for back pain relief?

I dont know alot about it but did hear something about it and that it can relieve back pain. ?  If so, how can it be?

They released a study recently that indicated that for a large portion of patients with chronic lower back pain there is an underlying infection that causes or contributes to it.

That's interesting. Oh if only it could turn out to be that simple. I certainly am going to keep my eyes on that.

A medscape article, which you can't read without a membership explains briefly:
"The first of 2 studies shows that patients with an anaerobic infected disc are more likely to develop Modic change (MC) (bone edema) in the adjacent vertebrae after disc herniation, suggesting a role of bacteria in developing Modic changes."

I've had many courses of antibiotics, oral and IV which did nothing for my back pain. I guess I don't have the bacteria that causes bone edema.
