Hey Eddie,
Congrats for being 16 weeks clean.... especially making it through the hurdle of the holidays.
You can't take opiods with naltroxene:
do not take any opioid medications or use opioid street drugs during your treatment with naltrexone. Naltrexone blocks the effects of opioid medications and opioid street drugs. You may not feel the effects of these substances if you take or use them at low or normal doses. If you take or use higher doses of opioid medications or drugs during your treatment with naltrexone, it may cause serious injury, coma (long-lasting unconscious state), or death.
I see you mentioned getting an MRI on another thread..... and that our members gave you some great ideas re: back pain remedies....... so I won't repeat any of that.
When do you next see your doctor? Did you get the MRI?
Hang in there. Keep reaching out for support.

Congratulations Eddie, thats wonderful but the thing you have to remember with any addiction is to avoid switching addictions. You can if it becomes necessary due to surgery or some spine issues switch to a butrans patch as it will work for pain but still has the same property that will help with the no drinking. Im assuming your on suboxen? You can always be switched to Subutex if again it becomes necessary for you to have to have narcotics. Its the same as suboxone has the bup but they leave the nal out so you can take pain meds for surgery or such.
Again addiction is addiction and if you already have a tendency to do so you have to be careful as to what meds you take. You have come along way to just trade one thing for another. Never fear there are ways to have your pain treated and just because you have had a issue with drinking it doesnt mean you have to suffer with pain.
Talk to your Doctor and be honest about
your problems and expectations.
