I hate to add to consensus here, but,....yes, I believe it is true.
For many of us CP'ers, going to the ER is such a last ditch effort, even if we're instructed to, because of how we've been treated in the past. It's as if they go on auto-pilot whenever a patient comes in who is in pain or being treated for CP. Their minds go on lock-down.
It's sad, it's unfortunate, but in my experience,...yes, it's common. It's unfair, and I even find it unethical. But it seems more commonplace.
I agree that asking for any drug by name is an automatic flag, and we shouldn't have to "dumb ourselves down" for the sake of the doctors or nurses, especially if we're already very familiar with our bodies and our situation.
