I do things similar to Alcie. I have the pill boxes set up for 2 weeks at a time for all scheduled meds. For PRN/as needed meds, I also keep a little notebook on my kitchen counter, next to my med bottles, and anytime I take something "as needed" I just write down date, time, med, amount, and reason. Works pretty well for me. I also have a separate page where i occasionally write down things like pain scores, anything unusual going on w/ the pain or if I find a pattern or something new that helps or hurts. Sort of a pain journal I guess.
I am so far behind in technology related stuff it's embarrassing, so i know nothing about apps to use. But, whether you do it on your phone or on paper, it's a good idea to keep track of pain stuff and meds. Will surely help you to gain insight into what's going on, what's working, and will help your doc be able to better help you.
