I am a chronic pain sufferer and I have been for the past 6 years. I'm not going go into my meds history, but I have tried many Narcotic meds in the past that have failed to lesson my suffering. I have decided to become a member instead of the Pain pump family, along with suffering with failed back surgery syndrome and Neuropathy.
We all know that chronic pain brings on depression. I also have been on Lexapro for 8 yrs. My Psych. Just added Xanax in addition in which I only use as needed and never abuse. Do not even take daily, but I do find that when I take it, it really helps with my pain. Also I attend the YMCA 3x a week which also helps with depression and the Xanax allows me to exercise with a calmness, less anxiety and less pain.
More medical studies need to be performed on Xanax and pain relief.
