Walgreens customers be warned!!

Vickie, how are you today? Were you able to get some meds to help with your pain? I know the Butrans is going to be a very poor substitute for what you were on before and I'm worried about your pain levels.

BTL, Im hanging in there and trying not to get discouraged here. I called Humana's online pharmacy as I order OTC meds from them and someone suggested asking them can I order it thru them. I looked at my plan and it says they accept classII as long as the script is mailed to them and everything is okay,may take a week the first time and so forth. Called them up to make sure I had the info correct so my DR does it right and they said well you live in Florida and it is one of the two states we cannot do mailorder classII meds to due to their state policy. Are you kidding me? This state is going to make darn sure that CPers end up getting off and suffering no matter what. Are you ready for this? Called Humana back and asked if they cover the methadone/suboxone/subutex addiction clinic and guess what? You bet!! 100% with NO co-pays and no preauth needed.

All I can do at this point is laugh because the joke is really on them!! I can go there at the great extreme cost of $187 a week and get subutex once a week and be done with all the pharmacys garbage. That means they are out about $500 more a month then they were before Walgreens decided I didnt need my meds.

JP I would ask that Mom and Pop what they think would be the easiest to obtain and maybe if they know the trouble your having they will actually give you a hint to what is more easily obtainable. They have to know what all they run short on and what they have extra of.

I asked A couple of the pharmacys what they did about emergency scripts from the ERs and UTCs and they told me they hold a certain amount of meds for those fills and that generally that is why ER Drs will not write for more then 24 pills in all because anything over and it would not get filled. Never even realized that was why they wrote those strange numbers of pills, 12,16,24.

I wonder if any of the pharmacys like M&P stock something like vicoprophen? or tylox? same meds as hydro and percocet but not something you see much of anymore. Not as popular as lortab and percocet.

I dont know and dont know what is going to happen when all these pharmacies start doing this kind of checking off lists and I know ppl are saying that wont happen but so far everything Walgreens has implemented over this drug wars stuff the others followed close on their heels or the FDA implemented the same regs.

Jumping in here very late in the game but, WOW and WHAT!
I hope this all got sorted out for you; beholding to new FDA rules, frightened pharmacisists and now Walgreens. What in the world is going on?
As a MSW, I am very aware that others truly believe that with mindfulness alone or combined with CBT, we will be ok. I also know I use mindfulness, understand CBT and changing my ADLs but it is not enough; not the answer. My question is this, why are you flagged, because you have taken opiates or other schedule 2 meds for longer than 6 months? Or because you don't get none pain meds filled there? Confused. And what does 120 doses mean, 120 pills? I get 270 a month, the top allowed at 9 pills per day with Tylenol. I am in Cali, just had a new 24 HR hold put on script at cvs, which has my med records for about ten years, completely befuddled.

Vickie, I posted again in this thread because I wanted to see if you had gotten things settled down with this. If you don't want to share I understand but I wanted to let you know I've been thinking about you and really hope the situation gets better!

Opana is a 'downgrade' from percocet? I take Opana, I've taken Percocet ... I don't really notice a difference I don't think, but why is it a downgrade? I'm just curious. Is it for ER or IR?

I've been afk for ages, so I'm getting caught up... Oh Vickie, this is simply nuts! I wanted to check in and see how you're doing. Just when we think we've got a grip... Those darn zebras start clunking away.
