It was introduced - yeah!!

It is 'legal' - medically -in my state but isn't available..
online info states maybe sometime next year.

If this passes maybe, just maybe!, this will speed things up !!

Even if my PM allows it, which is unlikely, my husband won't. Probably wouldn't work on me anyway, even if I could afford it.

One of the group of doctors I see for pain management is the lead doctor in the state's research team. I do not know if he is pro or anti. And I am not going to ask either..
Since I haven't tried MM for pain I do not know if it will be an option for myself..
IMHO research is needed & this would be a first step in having that happen.

I wish someone would remind those in D.C. that research in chronic pain is part of the ACA. They just didn't fund it.

I can honestly say I guess having this as a treatment option can't hurt but the nature of the beast of narcotics that influence my bad eating habits(the one's that fill my nightstand with sugary confections) would only tenfold should I partake of this natural substance and the addition of any more weight on my broken hardware in my knee would likely put me to the floor. Although I fear with government regulation this treatment will become much more costly rather than cheaper as they would have us believe under fda regulation. Anything that is regulated certainly has to have additional costs associated with it in grading,evaluating and packaging becomes involved. No longer will a box of $3 Glad be sufficient right and that added cost will fall onto what and who? The consumers. The cost of expert and certified growers become like back yard mechanics versus certified.

It does help with pain, for a short period of time, but like everything else needs to be used in moderation.

In my opinion cigarettes and alcohol cause more problems then cannabis ever will. You can not become addicted to MM nor can you overdose on it. The narcotic meds that are prescribed to most for chronic pain cause dependency issues and sometimes lead to abuse. Often a gateway drug to harder things like heroin if someone can not get those meds when needed. It's a strange place we are in right now with all of this. I can get a bottle of pills for a few bucks but MM costs me a lot more as insurance does not cover it. I don't think big pharmaceutical companies want it legal as they will most likely loose many prescription customers. They will lobby to keep it illegal.

Dr's should embrace MM and I would think want to write those scripts rather than harmful opioids. Legislation needs to change to change it's classification as right now it classified as a type 1 drug, as harmful as heroin and cocaine. It is not. Once that changes the states will ease up and see it does more good then harm to legalize it. It should be federally decriminalized. Dr's are scared to support it but write deadly narcotic meds all day long. It doesn't make any sense.

I wish they would pass this and then also, pass a bill for federally funded medical research of mm...it needs a good study trial on dosages that would be good to treat chronic pain...along with differents class group of pain suffers..like a study for RA suffers, a study of fibro suffers, a study of chronic low back pain suffers, ect... to get a better understanding of what groups mm would help...so it needs to go into federally funded studies...real time studies...
Plus they need to start with low amounts to see if a low dose can bring relief..
Otherwise I'm all in favor of MM....

decriminalizing it for the purpose of treating chronic and terminal individuals i feel would be beneficial.
