My med taken off market

A couple years ago, I started using tianeptine sulphate. It got rid of my migraines, eye pain, about 80% of neuropathic pain, and the feeling of my left side just being off.

There are a couple sketchy places online still selling it, but all the reputable vendors have removed it. I'm guessing this is due to new crack-downs on importing meds from China.

5 days without it and my pain is back to where it was. No migraine yet but the horrible eye pain is back.

I see my pain doc Monday.

My doctor had no idea what to use in its place. Instead, a 50% increase in monthly pills and encouragement to use marijuana more (It helps quite a bit, but I don't like its psychoactivity).

One thing I haven't tried yet is 5-htp, but I've been pretty miserable with increased pain. I have an unlimited supply of MJ, but I just can't grasp how people can use it. 4hrs pain free is great, but 4hrs swimming in weird ideas is a hard price for it. Fine as a novelty, but i need to have my head straight.

Unfortunately, I don't find that I get enough relief until I'm using something like Harlequin, which is about 3:1 CBD to THC, or roughly 12% to 4%. As I have no THC tolerance, it is still psychoactive at that level. I can use something at night before bed, but not during the day.

I'm so jealous of people who are getting significant relief from MJ. One senior patient I know went from 100mg of morphine to zero over the course of a couple months and now just uses MJ. He's lost a lot of weight, has a lot more energy, no longer needs a cane, and is really happy.

My state just passed a bill that protects doctors who treat MJ patients, establishing in law that they may continue to prescribe them scheduled medications. Pain doctors around here are all across the board, though. Some are totally fine with MJ in combination with opioids, some absolutely oppose it, some have rules such as if you use it, you will have to dose your opioids down by 50%.

Pashta, another option to consider is to blend flower. In most states, you can buy Hemp flower (or order it online). It will have, say, 15% CBD and <.3% THC. You can mix it with regular MJ and try different ratios.
