hi everyone!! i joined this forum because i have some chronic issues i am dealing with. I have been struggling with terrible stomach pain after an endoscopy with no explanation. the doctors are saying that it is not caused by my gastroparesis, but rather by my nerves that are aggravated. the pain and vomiting is preventing me from eating properly, and is quickly spreading. in July, it was localized in my stomach only. now the pain has spread to my ribs, back, and even shoulder blades. could an endoscopy cause crps? they removed a lot of tissue during the procedure. and it would make sense because the pain is spreading, into my esophagus as well. no tests show anything wrong except the gastroparesis, and this type of extreme searing pain is definitely not from it. thank you for anyone who responds, it would mean a lot. ♡︎

Hi Katarina, welcome to the forum. I have not heard of anyone getting crps from an endoscopy in this forum or the UC & crohns forums. Do you know how many biopsies were taken during the scope? My thinking is the scope being done in July, is there something else going on non-related?

I would make a brief list of the progression since July. Be descriptive about the type of pain, this can help the dr. Since the drs are saying it's not related to the scope, ask about potential other causes. I know the internet can be a useful tool, but Dr. Google is rarely right. There are too many health problems with overlapping symptoms that can lead us down the rabbit hole.

Not being able to tolerate food is problematic on many different levels. I wish I could have given you some more useful information. Keep after your dr.

Thank you so much for all your advice! I really appreciate it. When I was in the hospital for not being able to eat, they mentioned crps but never made an official diagnosis. But I will definitely use your advice and also look into how many biopsies they did! Thank you so much.

Hi Katarina, I hope you are feeling better. Did they found out the reason of your pain after the endoscopy?

Have you only seen your gastro doctor for this ? Have you discussed it with your PCP ? It might be time to see another gastro doctor for a second opinion.
