I have had much more time these past 2 years to watch the insanity that has come with Christmas in our families. We used to have Christmas day at 3 houses other than ours in one day! What were we thinking?

So this year, we decided to do Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for our family only. We are doing baking and going to our church's candlelight Eve service, and then Christmas Day at home together.

Boy is my family and his angry!

Awww. Well, I think that is WONDERFUL! It must have been hard to enjoy the holidays when you were running to so many places. It's great that you'll get to enjoy yourself this year. Hopefully, it will help your pain, too, as you won't have to go to so many different houses. GOOD FOR YOU, I say!

For this very reason I stepped down as the CEO of the holiday scene many years ago. All I can remember of past Christmas' was running to this ones house and then on the next ones house and on & on. My kids did not enjoy getting hauled all over the place either. They wanted to be in their own home, with their own toys and their own tree and it never happened. We were too busy trying to make sure no one got their feelings hurt or got mad. Now, I get a call telling me the plan and when & where I am suppose to show up at and I love it and everyone is happy. The inlaws and the outlaws all gather at one house and we have a great time. No one is stressed either and all is happy.

Enjoy your holidays Mindy and relax they will get over it.

We broke our Christmas up at our house. Our family tree is on Saturday. My brother and his family are coming from Iowa on Sunday for a small personal celebration with us then leaving on Monday. My other brother, who lives across the state, and his family are coming the next weekend to celebrate. My sister and middle brother, who live locally, are coming to both. This is much easier for us, because the oldest brother and youngest brother don't get along well together and there's always a fight when they're together. Not bloody mind you, just yelling and foot stomping. Both are territorial like old bulldogs and I'm getting too tired to deal with them.

We always have Christmas at my grandmothers the Sunday before Christmas so it doesn't interfere with each individual family Christmas. We don't have Christmas at my parents, to make it easier, they come to ours. I only have one sibling and his daughter is never here at the same time, so my parents come to our Christmas with our kids and then they go to his house when his daughter is here....one year it was in January!!!

Thank you all for the support. The way my mother acts about this, you would think I killed someone!

I have a sister that always picks a fight with someone at every birthday party, holiday, or family gathering. I am dreading my wedding because of it. But that is what bouncers are for!

My boys are so excited to stay home on Christmas day. That is what matters.

I certainly understand trying to calm things down on Christmas! All I want is for it to be over! lol Hoping you have a wonderful quiet and LP Christmas!
