Hi,
My name is Manda although I have gone by the username Diosadeluna on many sites for years now. I am a 25 y/o female. Mother of 2 (7 and 4) with another on the way and I suffer from PVNS. I have read on other threads that there aren't that many PVNS sufferers on here because they don't stay. I had arthroscopic surgery on my knee March 2013 and within 2 months, the swelling in my knee was back to where it had been before the surgery. They sent me to an oncologist to talk about radiation therapy but because I am so young, they don't want to do it as it can only really do 2 sets of treatments per lifetime with a 20 year gap. I have limited mobility in my right knee and can rarely bend it past 90 degrees. It is painful to walk most days (Every few weeks I seem to have a good day where it's not hurting as bad) and makes doing things with my kids very hard.
The problem I have run into is that the doctors in the Wausau area of Wisconsin have not dealt with many cases. Including mine, my orthopedic doctor has had 4 cases and he is not a really young guy. I have tried to look for specialists but have not had much luck finding anything. Is there anyone who has a suggestion?
On a side note, PVNS is not the only chronic pain I suffer from. I also have Fibromyalgia. Before I got pregnant, that pain was being managed with Gabapentin and Cymbalta.
Thanks in advance to everyone who responds. :)
