Hey guys just wanted to hop in and say Happy Holidays to y'all and let you know what happened to me. I had my gastric sleeve surgery 12/20. Well there were complications. I got out of surgery and my blood tests kept getting worse. I was also vomiting. I eventually had to have a second surgery emergency surgery 12am 12/22. I had four units of blood. I finally was able to come home on Christmas Eve.

I am still unsure about how I feel. I don't know if I will eventually be glad I did this or not but this week has been awful. Since the second surgery was unplanned my poor hubby had to sit in that hospital room worried sick alone. I have had a very emotional time on top of all the physical problems. I have no idea of any weight loss yet still swollen with fluids but maybe I will be happier in a few weeks when time has eased the pain and trauma.

Sherrie, thanks for the update!! Sorry to hear about the unplanned surgery, how awful for hubby right at the holidays!! At least you got home Xmas Eve and hopefully you were able to salvage some of your Christmas!

Keeping fingers crossed you have great results with the sleeve and I'm guessing it's a bit early yet to see any noticeable results but give it a few weeks and I bet you will.

Glad your home and on the mend. Don't push yourself so hard, take recuperating slow and easy and everything will be better. I know you've got to be excited and anxious waiting for results but your body will need to heal first.

Sounds like your heading into a New Year with big plans and high hopes for a healthier you!! Great plan.

Thanks for updating us. I'm sorry things went a bit rough. However, I'm really glad you're okay.

Get you rest and take care of yourself. I hope you will recover well. Let us know how you're doing when you can.

Glad you got your 'repairs' & are now on the mend !!.
I've known several women who had sucess with gastric sleeve & I wish you the best

Sounds like an awful time - sorry that all those complications happened, doubly because it was during the holidays

Maybe pick a day to have Christmas with family when you feel up to it ??
Due to home repairs gone astray, family coud not cook the family traditional meal so I plan to ask everyone to get together soon & make it (though not all family will be able to be here..)

I'm sorry to hear of the complications you had with your surgery. The good news is that,...if something's going to happen, you were in the right place and they could tend to it immediately.

Take good care of your health first,...and effects of the surgery (and the complications) will take a little while to kick in, and to wear off,...but have faith that it will happen.

Keep your focus on the new and healthier you that's on the other side of this journey.

I agree with Diane,...pick a day to have a Sherrie Merry Christmas, and make it a family affair to remember (when you're strong and healthy!)
