Accupuncture

I have a frozen shoulder, so along with traditional physical theraphy, I have been getting accupuncture for 4 weeks. After the first accupuncture I noticed my calves aching. No needles were inserted into back of legs. I have been doing an exercise in the doorway that puts stress on my calf, but I was doing this exercise for 2 months before accupuncture without pain in my calves. Any thoughts on this

I have seen many like Alcie and reported more pain widespread and only several who said they got relief from accupuncture at all. I would be looking into the calf pain if you cannot determine a cause since this is an area known to get blood clots. Talk to your Dr.

I had success with it for my neck after a car wreck. I had done the traditional PT for 3 months that did nothing for the pain. It felt great while getting the PT but as soon as it was over the pain came right back. I too could relax while getting it & fell asleep a few times. When I first started the dr told me up front if I did not respond by the end of 3 treatments then he would not continue it & I appreciated his honesty. Back then insurance companies did not pay for it so I was paying out of pocket. I never had pain show up anywhere else either.

I hope Mema gets checked for blood clots they are nothing to fool around with.

Absolutely none, I do not think I would go there again. You should not be bruising at all. What kind of dr is doing this?

Never had any kind of reaction like that from acupuncture, nor did I receive it from dry-needling, (which goes even deeper).

I agree with the others, and I'd strongly reconsider going back there. That response is nothing I've ever seen.

The calf pain, as was mentioned, is something I'd be investigating,....top of the list.

Just an update. Docs didn't think blood clots. They seem to have gone away. I do think it had to do with exercising for my frozen shoulder. Possible nerve pain or muscle pain.
