Ive been on the lyme forum for a while and had no pain. A few months into treatment I developed a hot burning searing pain in my mouth that is non stop. The odd thing is that it started in May was off/on and then starting in June became chronic. It feels like someone cut up my mouth with a razor blade and poured in hot acid, the burning is that severe. Its so far intractable. But the weird thing is this. There is a little cartilage in your throat, called the thyroid cartilage. Its right at the top around the adams apple. When I swallow, I get a fierce pain, like someone is cutting with a razor, right in that specific location and the pain doesn't leave. Its triggered with the act of swallowing and radiates to the tonsils and ears. The pain is so bad I can no longer live normally. I cant eat or watch tv or sleep, its that severe.
I have been everywhere ERs, ENTs, so many doctors. CT scan of throat is normal. Ugg. A doctor at the pain clinic suggested glossal pharanygeal neuralgia, but reading about this pain online is something that comes and goes. I also had an MRI which did not show any nerve compressions or issues with that particular nerve.
This seemed to manifest after taking a few supplments for lyme disease and drinking tea from china ordered on Amazon - which I hope wasn't polluted.
Now the burning pain seems to be spreading to other parts, but the throat is by far and away the worst.
HELP!!
Any thoughts or anyone with similar experience. Im at a total loss!!
