I am back, still recovering my *girly surgery* Wednesday . It wasn't as bad as I feared as they didn't have to take anything except the one ovary. I am extremely sore and still tired, but feel good. The best part is the path report: all samples were Benign!
So I am doing the happy dance,,,but in my head only. Cant wait for my waistline to reappear. Should be back to myself in a week or so.
I asked if I could go back to my pre-mommy waistline and they said no. Darnit!
The staff was so gentle and careful with my shoulder. I made sure that everyone I encountered knew not to life or move me by the shoulder. I also learned that toradol is a nifty anti inflammatory... will keep that one in mind for future use.
I hope I have as much success with the shoulder treatments. For right now its one step at a time
Hope everyone has a restful night!

Great to read things went well for you. Hopefully you will have an uneventful recovery & will be back on your feet in no time. If I remember right they did a lap surgery, if so, if you start having the bad gas pains, walk. Walking is the best way to get rid of it.
Yes Toradol is a great medication but they can only give you so much at one time. Its not something we can have a steady diet of.
Take care.

Kudos, sweetie with success thus far. For me, Gas-X MELTAWAYS are a Godsend. I have long since pre-surgery kept them in my arsenal. Please be good to yourself and get some rest. Watch some silly Christmas movies for escape!

Geeeeezle Pete, I had totally forgotten about
how bad the gas pains were. Its nice to have you guys on my side. I have been walking alot and yoga too.
I don't want to jinx myself but sleep has actually been happening. I have slept more in last 2 days then in month prior. I just cant stay awake for very long. Not that I am complaining or fighting. So proud that I got so much done before...meals, shopping, cleaning etc. I am taking it very easy now so that I don't pull myself down.
I go back Mon for check up then off to the neuro. Even better!!!!!! My youngest is taking leave and will be here Monday evening. I wanna be up and clear so that I can hug my Army guy. Will have a big homecoming and Bday for 2nd to last boy. I am blessed with great kids and awesome folks on this forum! THANK YOU!!!!

I have had some of these lap surgeries & was always told by the nurses to walk to get rid of the gas. In fact, they always said walking is the only way to get rid of it. They really do blow us up with that stuff so that they can see everything clearly inside. One time after a surgery it got up under my ribs & boy did that one hurt but I just kept walking, lol to make it move. Sleep while you can but remember to keep the lungs clear by coughing.
Enjoy your time with your son. You both deserve it.

It's so hard to find a balance between resting yet still staying active to get all your insides back into place. Especially with family coming to visit, and all the holiday stuff going on.
I'm glad you were treated so well by the team you had at the hospital, that is really good to hear.
I hope things continue to look up for you!
