Monday check-in

There is nothing worse, then going through hell of depression. You wake up each day, not knowing if you will make it
'till night, or you will simply give in, and end it all yourself. The drugs sometimes help, and sometimes make it worse.
Felt like I had no control whatsoever over my own life. But with some help from my family, the people who truly love me, I
managed to get myself out of that hell-hole. It took me a while, but I managed to teach myself how to push trough the day, and keep on fighting.
In the end, it all comes down to helping yourself get up and fight, because without that no one can truly help you, no matter how much they would want to.
To conclude, help yourself, so you could go out into the world, and start truly living, and that will be a cure on it's own.

Once again the local university hospital has messed up my insurance. I have a Medicare supplement, which I submitted at the time of my procedure in January and takes care of all co-pays, and they have still billed me. I went to their online site because they aren't taking calls this morning and tried to add the information, but it's not showing up. I also sent a message to the billing department. So stupid to get worked up over $38.00.

I'm literally tired of the snow. My plow guy isn't very good and plows in the garage and pump house doors. So I was out on the old Ford diesel tractor yesterday and will have to go out again. My legs are killing me from pushing on the clutch and transaxle pedals. We've got snow that hasn't melted all winter and ice underneath. It's getting hard to lift the shovel high enough to clear the snow piles along the sidewalk.

The local feed store ran out of sunflower seed, so the now 60 turkeys and who-knows-how-many deer will have to settle for corn. At least it's cheaper.

The grandkids left their sleds out in the snow and I can't even see them this morning.

The weather here in southern Texas is rain, rain, rain! The sun has escaped us and is heading to Florida - where I want to be (to retire)!

This Thursday I am getting the fluoroscopy guided injections into both of my SI joints because they are severely inflamed. I am also getting facet injections since I have severe degeneration and the doctor seems to think it will help the portion of pain from them. I am stressing about the injections because of all the bad things that happened to me with another kind, ESI's, but I know this are different - just gives me high anxiety that's all.

Went grocery shopping with my hubby for the first time in about a month. Been in to much pain to even leave the house. Man oh man is Walmart a big store when your counting the aisles till you done and can get back in the car on the heated seats - whew!!! I always go with a list of about 20 items and walk out with 80!!! What's up with that!! lol

My weekend was recovering from a complete hysterectomy. It was done with the Da Vinci robot so not so bad. (surgery is surgery though) My back pain has not been so bad , which is amazing. I sure wish we would have found that I needed this prior to having the dorsal column stimulator implanted. I was so hesitant about it but finally gave in. Now I wonder if the female problems was making it so much worse. Time will tell.

Snow is finally melting from our big snow storm two weeks ago! They are even saying we might go from the twenties and low thirties that we have had the last few days to close to sixty tomorrow with heavy rains. The bad thing is they are now saying we are in the bulls eye for another winter storm for Wednesday with possible nine plus inches of that nasty cold white stuff, accompanied with record breaking low temps! This is March and here in Kentucky we are suppose to be in the fifties during day! Not the twenties and thirties or colder! I have not had mail delivery since our last snow storm two weeks ago because the way the plowed my street, the mail man in his truck cannot reach my mailbox! People on the other side of the street are fine as he plowed right up to the curb, on my side of the street he left a good four foot margin piled up with snow. So I had to have them hold my mail delivery and I have been going to the post office every other day to pick up my mail. With the melting this past weekend I finally went out and dug the mailbox and street out. It seems I have done it just in time for our next snow storm! Anyway I have spent the last two days recuperating from my snow shoveling excursion on Saturday.

If any one has ever heard of Hoodie Hoo Day, and they didn't celebrate it in February then please start yelling it out now, and scare old man winter away! (Google it and see what it is) When I lived in Illinois the local weather lady, had everyone meet at the local park and we all yelled out Hoodie Hoo, Hoodie Hoo, Hoodie Hoo to scare old man winter away! Ha

Hi all,

Saw the endocrinologist last week, and am finally starting to get some answers on why I have been feeling so sick for the last 10 mo or so. Turns out I have some major thyroid issues (despite all my blood work always being normal), and possibly adrenal disease as well. The doc found some concerning abnormalities with my thyroid and regional lymph nodes on both palpation and ultrasound. And so I have to go for a better ultrasound, and possibly biopsy, next week. In the mean time, had 9 vials of blood taken this morning for more highly specialized endocrine testing.

See my PM later this week. Plan is to go over some test results, and make a decision as to what we are going to do with my meds -- either switch to the long acting form of the med that I am on now, or change meds completely.

Also waiting to hear back from another new doc (psychiatrist) I saw last week about ketamine infusions. Was referred for treatment resistant depression, but obviously we'd like to try and treat the CP as well, since ketamine has been used to treat both conditions. But apparently the protocols are different. So he needed to consult with some of his colleagues and several of my docs before determining the best course of action. So I am hoping that I hear back from him by the end of the week.

Still lots of snow here as well. Probably got about 3 ft on the ground, and more forecast for this week. Ready for winter to end. I love the snow, but the cold, especially, is getting old.

It's good for me to hear others stories. It gives me perspective and gratitude....and a dose of humility, which I sorely need at times.
So thank you for the welcome.
I will listen more deeply, there are kindred spirits here. And I'm grateful to find that, for sure.
