Thank you Vickie.... Bigecase, I'm looking for information on your TIF procedure. I'm in a position where I may need to look at surgical options to relieve the GERD pain I've been diagnosed with recently (after suffering for almost 20 years with what I just thought was heartburn). :( If you can advise on your TIF results, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi. I don't much time. My mother is terminal. I had esophyx tiff in 2010. I only take something for reflux occasionally now. I would call a success. It would not want to go through it again however. There is a lot of information on the GERD board here. The hard part is your diet for 12 weeks post surgery. Liquids for 4 weeks and no meat for 12 weeks. It gets difficult. I guess it was worth it to no longer take meds.

Just read up on the surgery-It looks really interesting.

I had a Nissen done due to refluxing and aspirating in my sleep. I was developing pneumonia and had multiple admissions.

Hopefully the fact that it is not an open abdominal surgery will speed up your healing time.

I hope it brings you relief from your symptoms.

I thought that too but it was still hard. It sounds easy. You will have pain and discomfort for several weeks. I lost 40 pounds. But I needed too.

Thanks. I don't know if you recall but she was put on hospice back in September. She has been a trooper.
