Hi! I am newer to this site & need to know if someone else is having the same pain as I am.
8 years ago, I had partial right hip replacement
Pain since day one.
2 years later, I had revision surgery to add the cup & now found out they replaced the ball.
Still chronic pain in hip, groin, butt, & femur.
No doctor can find any thing wrong with the prosthesis.
If anyone is experiencing this problem, please tell me what to do.
The hip also clicks once in awhile.
Also lately been experiencing painful locking while driving or sitting. So bad that I have to pull over & get out & walk for a minute or two.
So tired of the pain. Help

Hello Williams & welcome to the forum. We haven't had many hip replacement folks over the years in this forum. I know there has been posts in the Osteoarthritis forum about potential hip replacement candidates. Other members complained of knee or back pain after replacement. I did a forum search in that forum looking at posts in the archives & could not find anything similar to what you have going on.

You mentioned seeing drs over the years & they all say things look good. Have you been seeing the same dr all along? The reason I ask is, if you haven't seen a specialist in some time maybe it's time to do so. I would look for a dr that specializes in joint replacement only. Sometimes a new set of eyes can be helpful.

Are you on any medication for the pain? What do you do trying to get some relief?

I have a friend who had both of her hips replaced several months apart. He has pain and weakness in her left leg only because her back on the left side is a mess. Not sure if this is your problem but may be an
Avenue to check.
