Hello, all.
I have been dealing with a LOT of pain, and just need to vent.
A couple of weeks ago I started feeling soreness and tightness in my right hamstring. I figured I'd slept wrong, or had been trying too hard to correct my posture. Long story short, it's steadily progressed to an 8-9, with occasional bursts of 10 (or 100??) I'm 95% sure it's disc-related, having had a discectomy in my left L4-5 level six years ago. I can't cough, sneeze, or blow my nose AT ALL without paying for it with horrible cramps, which can strike anywhere along my leg.
Tonight was the worst yet. I was standing in the kitchen, and silly me, I laughed at something my husband said. Oh my god! Suddenly my whole calf felt like it was being squeezed HARD with a clamp. I just yelled, "Gaaaahh!!!" and somehow didn't collapse. I never knew cramps could be so bad! My husband came over and helped me calm down enough to try to stretch it and walk back to the couch. I think even he was a little concerned, and that's saying something. He's very used to my chronic pain complaints and I think tunes a lot of it out. But tears were streaming down my face and I was just blubbering.
I saw my general PA yesterday and he gave me a prednisone 5-day script (I'm already on Oxycodone and Gabapentin) and said most insurances won't do an MRI till it's gone on for 6 weeks. UGH!! Not Happy.
Thanks for listening. I really hope everyone has a Happy Easter!
Debbie
