 i am looking for some one who has had the pain pump put in. Wanting to know how succesful it has been and if you recomend it. Dr. is wanting to do a trial on me and i am a little scared. I suffer with cronic burning pain due to failed back surgerys. Lots of spinal cord problems and othe ruptured disc. Don't know if i schould get 2nd opinion.If some one knnows any thing about this i would love to hear from you.

I know for a fact that a few of our members have pain pumps, most I've heard only good things from about it. Please give them a few days to respond, as the forum has been slow lately. Also try using the "search site" option and look up "pain pump" for more info.

Mogirl, welcome to HW.We are glade to have you and you have come to the right.I have never has a dealing with pain pump's but I have a good friend tthat does.her name is Straydog-Susie.I wish you much luck and let us know what you find out as to what you do.

Hi Mogirl and welcome to HW. There is another post on here we just had about pain pumps. I have one and do not regret ever having it put in. It has given me a little of my life back and better quality of life. Since you have a failed back surgery, it may work very well for you. A friend of my daughter's just had one put in, she too had surgery and actually was worse after surgery. They tried the nerve stimulator and it was useless she said. She is doing so much better now. At first I dug my heels in and said no to my dr. it just seemed so final to me. Three months later I was having the pump put in, lol. He told me then, he knew I would be changing my mind. My pump is from MedTronics, go to their website and read about it there. If you have questions, please feel free to ask. Susie

I am scheduled the trial 11/29 and I am a nervous wreck I take the fentanyl patch and also the fentanyl lollipops I would like more information about the trial if someone can help me.

Hi Tuttie and once again welcome aboard. You will see that I have responded to some questions you asked on one of the other posts here about pumps that was started by What Is Done.

We do ask all new members to start their own intro post so that all the members will see it and be able to pop on and tell you hello and welcome aboard. Other wise posting on an old thread may not get much attention.

To start your own post look to the left and you will see Post New Topic, click there and a heading will appear and type in something like maybe I am new here and going to have a trial for a pain pump. Then click again and type the body of your post & hit submit when finished.
