I am happy for you. Make sure you don't take this as permission to neglect the problem. The better care you take of yourself the better your outcome especially without the genetic component hanging over you.

I'm glad the results are negative. Did you get a copy of the report, with the actual numbers and ranges? I'm curious to know how yours turned out.

So, your GI doc is taking a "wait-and-see" approach with no meds for the IBD symptoms? I hope you're feeling better in that regard and if you do indeed have Crohn's, it's a mild case. From what I've read of your posts, you're really careful with your diet and your health, so I hope you stay in remission.

Thanks skly . . . by "neglect" do mean ignore? No, I'll be right on it if/when I have another true flare. I have had some minor stuff perking around down there . . . but I'm never sure what is "normal" and what is a problem. But the doubled over pain won't go ignored. I'm filling the Entocort rx and will start it immediately with next flare. Thanks for the encouragement. PV - the IBD7 is bloodwork that checks 7 markers of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. It is a bit controversial I think . . . because I had it run and then read all manor of comments pros and cons about the test. It is only done at one lab in California (Permetheus) . . . .but my Cleveland Clinic GI felt like it was a good tool in deciding how aggressively to treat my issues. I'm not sure what the ASCA is . . . so I don't know how to compare it. We find good information on lots of blood tests at labtestsonline.org . . . but I'm sure something like the IBD7 are not included there. I hope things improve for your husband and you. I know he's had a huge battle and you along side him. Like I've said in other posts, I believe that the care-taking partner has it harder than the chronically ill person. I tell my hubby that ALL the time. He doesn't believe me . . . but its true. I don't know what I'd do w/o his love and support. Thanks for being so dedicated to your hubby and his care! Jan . . .yes, it's a full 4 weeks. YES I do want to get a copy of the the blood work and the biopsy results for my records. I am REALLY comfortable with the wait and see. I think if I'm going to use steroids (Entocort) I will feel much more comfortable about it if I start it during a flare . . . with a really definite need to use it. I know its a mind game . . . but I'm also waiting to see if stopping the IBUPROFEN will end/lessen the GI flares. I'm not sure ibuprofen is the culprit because I did have my worst flare (last May) after a 6 month break from anti-inflammitories. . . . so this gives me a chance to see for sure if ibuprofen is involved.
