anyone tried it for CD? I was getting it a bit a few years ago for back pain- not sure if that worked or the concurrent treatments (massage etc...)
wondering if anyone has had success for releaving Crohn's symptoms and especially pain...

I have not seen one myself, but I believe Zanne has. Hopefully she will see this and respond soon. My husband massages some part of my body everynight, and I find it really helpful. Hugs!

I've had acupuncture and I felt it helped my overall well being, sleep and pain. It's great for anxiety. I would continue with mine but my insurance will no longer pay for it and with all the meds I am on, I just can't afford it. I agree with Gail that massage therapy is awesome too but I have a lot of joint pain.
Wow, Gail, I have two reasons to be jealous of you #1 you live in San Diego #2 you have a hubby who gives you massages!!!! I dream of living in a climate that is better for my aches and pains when we retire but it is so far from family and friends, I doubt we'll do it. We might be able to spend a lot of time in other places with good climates through travel but we'll probably want to stay near family and friends. That is if they don't all move when they retire! LOL.....

I have used acupuncture for my CD related joint pain. My acupuncturist said it would help with the CD pain too, but I never really felt much relief from that. It was nice to just sit and relax for an hour though. I got relief for headache, congestion and the joint pain. I do recommend trying it if you can afford to or if your insurance will cover it. I went to a community clinic (you can google them to see if there is one near you). They offer a cheaper service with a bit less privacy, think chairs with screens as opposed to rooms with beds. But at $15 a session instead of $60 or more I was more than willing to sacrifice a little privacy. It isn't like you have to undress for acupuncture.
It is worth giving it a try since it is relatively non-invasive compared to all the other stuff we have available. It did take a few weeks before I noticed any benefit, so give it a chance before you give up entirely.

I have just started seeing one for the joint pain. I have been 3 times and I will give it a couple of months to see if it is helping. I do enjoy relaxing for the hour. I hope it will help some. Worth a try if you can afford it. Good luck

Jeanneac I live in the coastal part of San Diego, and let me tell you my joints hurt all the time because of the humidity. So its not all that great for the joints.
As for my wonderful husband and his daily massages, they are true blessings. He takes such good care of me. Its kinda funny, I am the sick one, and he is the athletic one and VERY healthy.

Acupuncture workes for me, Im symptom free when going to acupuncture 3 times a week.
Thou except if I eat really hot food like wasabi or a lot of chili.
I been at many acupuncturists and the best one are the one that preform TCM (tradicional chinese medicin acupuncture).
Especially the ones that are chinese and educated in China.
I also tried a lot of chinese herbs which didnt seem to do any difference.
Now next week I will get my delivery from Biomonde thailand so I wont be doing any acupuncture for a couple of weeks to see if the worms can do a good job:)

i get it regularly - once a month. i've been using it for years. one time i used it a few times a week for a couple of months. i dont think it ever helped my crohn's to where i felt better in that regards, however i love it for how i feel after wards and what it does for me in other respects. it is great maintenance and helps relieve stress and aches and pains and other stuff. i cannot tell if it helps with my crohn's but i know it helps and has helped in other respects.
