Just curious if anyone has this problem. My GI says since there is nothing small enough to see what's going on he's sending me to a surgeon. I've been this way since I was diagnosed in 2004. I have no idea if this is uncommon so I'm reaching out to you guys...
I've fought my GI against c-scopes for years since I don't see the point. He still insists on doing them. Has anyone's won the fight against colonoscopies (sp) ?

I did, but thats only because of multiple abdominal surgeries have caused my left side of my colon to adhere to my body cavity, so he can't get around the first turn (near left hip) without fear of perforating me.
He has of late been discussing me having another cscope, but I don't see why. Nothing has changed my colon is still adherred to my body cavity. We have been doing CT Enterography instead. Good luck!

Did he ever try the balloon that's supposed to
open the area to allow the scope through? Mine tried that 2yrs ago, I woke up from anesthesia screaming bloody murder.
If you can talk your doc out of doing a cscope on u pleeeaaassse let me know how

Is there a compelling reason, right now, to do a scope? A colonoscopy should not be done just to have a "look see" or satisfy a doc's curiosity. Not when there are less invasive markers of inflammation, like symptoms, blood tests, small bowel series, etc.

No he just makes me get one every 2 yrs.... he says he can't be my dr if he's not able to see what's going on regardless of how much he can or cannot actually see.

Mine will do a scope every couple of years to check for cancer signs. I believe that's recommended after having the disease ~8+ years.

Ahh it's been 7yrs diagnosed and probably another 5yrs w/o diagnoses so that explains why he's always throwing the C word out there (cancer)...
thanks
