It seems that my sister (46) and me (43) have the same chronic symptoms, both triggered by a tropical infection.
She is sick for 3 years after her sailing around the world, I am sick for 4 years, after getting amobia infection in the Himalayas
I was yet not well in the 2 preceding years, losing weight without any reason - but depression, doc said.
She had endoscopy and could attend good gastoentrologists in France, whereas I am just left with guessing. She said they did not find anything, in her case, and no treatment works. She says this is probalby not CD, because we have no blood, no fever, no mucus. She believes (She is a PhD in genetics and a researcher in evolutionary genetics) that it is just about flora disturbance.
she finds relief with ultra-yeats (Saccharomyces boulardii) and shi a tsu, a sort of specific massage. She insisted "not probiotics, that makes me sicker, but yeast, not bacteria"
Our common symtoms are chronic abdominal incomfort, with alternance of D and C, and painful abdominal cramps.
My extra bonus is rapid tooth decay, iron defitiency (not complete anemaia though), and chronic low back pain. It seems that it accords with Cd well.
I describe my symptoms and story on the IBS forum, thread "what's wrong with my bolwels"
If you have any thing to say about her view that this is not CD, please kindly share.
She'll call me on Sunday so we can discuss further
