Humira and Breastfeeding

I am reposting this question as I did not get any replies yesterday. Hope that's ok.

Just looking for anyone who took Humira while pregnant and then breatfed.....

I did. I took it from the 2nd trimester all the way through breastfeeding. I breastfed for about 7 months. The latest research shows that the Humira molecule is too large to pass through to the milk. My kiddo is 2 and happy and healthy. I would say that you should be able to take Humira while pregnant and breastfeeding without any trouble at all.

I switched from remicade to humira in the first trimester and am still breastfeeding my 6 month old. The baby is healthy and growing like a weed! Good luck

My doctor wasn't sure when my son was born so he took me off Humira at the end of my pregnancy. I went into remission during that time anyway and didn't need the medication. That lasted about 10 months after he was born. I will take it again in my next pregnancy and continue using it if need be.

where can i find this research? i'm currently weaning because i need to go back on humira. maybe i can convince my pedi before its too late.

I plan on breastfeeding my twins while on Humira the breastfeeding expert gave us the green light

Dr. Hale is considered the leading expert in meds/breast milk in the U.S. Hope this info helps.
