I am not familiar with the Irmat Pharmacy, but Skips Pharmacy is the one having years of experience with LDN, Phd. dr. Skip Lenz has written papers on LDN and is working to speak out the words on it. He is a true LDN fan. His staff is well educated to answer any LDN questions. Feel safe to call them.
I have used LDN now for 4 years. All with Crohns should avoid lactose fillers. Some of us get headache / feels groggy as a side effect for a few days when starting up using LDN. LDN could be taken at night and at day, the latest is that LDN is working whenever you take it, you can even divide your dose, taking half in the morning and half the dose in the evening. Many people need to start at a low dose and gradually during a few weeks increase to the dose that suits them.
I'll try to explain how to do it: You may start at 1.5 mg (or ml if you use the liquid LDN), then wait a week, increase with 0.5 mg each time you increases your dose. Continue till you start to feel extremely tired, this is a side effect telling that you have reached your personal peak on LDN.
When you have reached a dose where you feel very tired and groggy, go down 0.5 mg (ml) to the dose you had just the day you didn't feel this. You now have reached your maximum dose that suits your body the best. You may be need to reduce the dose another 0.5 mg if you still feel too tired.
It's ok to do this to find your personal dose. A LDN dose could be all from 1.5 mg and up to 12.0 mg a day, I have been told. I am working close to those getting the latest information.
SCD is ok to use with LDN. But another thing that is important too is: You have to use at least a mild Crohns medicine as a maintanance medicine with LDN. Asacol / Pentasa is one that goes well with LDN. I would not use LDN as a stand alone if I could, I would always prefer another one with it.
Many people prefer to use the SCD and LDN as the only treatment. I am going for a maintainance medicine, and even using prednisone when flaring or to help calming an inflammation down while starting up on LDN.// the best, Bee
Oh, and kids can use LDN as well. The transdermal cream was developed for kids, to put on the inner arm wrist while sleeping. Transdermal could also help those with sensible stomacs. LDN is going directly into the blood system while using it as a cream.www.ldnscience.org
